Biography

I’ve come into The Burnt Shop rather late in life from a food service background. I’ve been a restaurant owner, caterer, chef and professional cheese monger.

I frankly got tired of the mess, crazy hours, sweat and heavy lifting so just this year, I reinvented myself as an artist!

I had a desire to work with my hands creating beautiful pieces that looked great in your kitchen and that you could actually use…all day, every day, the way a writer has a favorite pen. We all have our treasured kitchen pieces, things from our mothers and grandmothers. I’m making them beautiful. I’m self taught in the age old techniques of woodburning and glass etching. Most of my work is done freehand without the use of transfers or stencils and the designs are my own. Every piece is unique and signed…the glass is all numbered. My pieces are meant to be used and abused…to last for generations and hopefully become signature pieces in your home. I choose not to use toxic chemicals or finishes and I recycle 100%of my packaging materials.
