Biography
Fiber artist Patricia Fortinsky has spent the last 30 years learning and practicing the arts of spinning, knitting, dyeing and weaving natural fibers. Her many years of working on sheep farms exploring natural dyeing and searching for those treasured fleeces led her to start Tidal Yarns in 2007.
Today she devotes most of her energies to growing her business while continuing to work part time on a sheep farm in Lyme, CT. On the farm, Ms. Fortinsky makes cheese and sorts through thousands of pounds of wool each year. She is a graduate of Bryant University and for the past 20 years has taught spinning and knitting classes at farms, fairs, shops and privately in Ohio and New England.
