Biography

Brian Lee specializes in wildlife and macro-photography and searches for his subjects from the Amazon Rain Forests of Ecuador to the fields and woods of his home town of Portland, Connecticut. He finds the most satisfaction in showing people the beauty and intricacies of the small and normally overlooked denizens of the outdoors. Insects, reptiles/amphibians and flowers are his favorite subjects. Primarily self-taught, Mr. Lee attended two 10-day macro-photography workshops in Amazonian Ecuador with The Biodiversity Group, a conservation and research organization run by Dr. Paul Hamilton, a PHD herpetologist and photographer. This will be Mr. Lee’s third season of showing his photos. He has participated in numerous Arts and Crafts festivals and gallery shows, winning Best in Show-Fine Arts category at the 2013 Fairfield Craft Festival. He prints and mattes his photography, using high quality paper and inks.
