Encaustic Beyond Collage Intensive

Watch a Video here! Hands-on intensive studying different transferring techniques including photocopy image transfer (black & white and color), graphite transfer, rub‐ons and the use of silk prints as another way of incorporating images into your work. Learn to embed a variety of papers, horse hair, textiles, dried leaves and flowers, and other objects, as well as the use of metal leaf. You’ll also experience how to pour, and explore other methods to prepare your panels for transferring images and/or to embed elements.

Open to all levels. (Preferably with some encaustic experience)

Teaching Artist Corina Alvarezdelugo works in sculpture and mixed media, and has never been afraid to experiment with new materials and techniques. Her award-winning paintings, sculptures, prints and drawings have been exhibited at venues worldwide and throughout the United States. She is a member many distinguished artist societies including, the Guilford Art League, the New Haven Paint and Clay Club, the Society of Connecticut Sculptors, the Arts Council of Greater New Haven, the Connecticut Society of Portrait Artists and the Pen and Brush, Inc. of New York. Her first formal art training came during her teenage years under the guidance of Venezuelan painter and sculptor Luis Alvarez de Lugo (who later became her father-in-law). As a young adult, she continued to study fine art at Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford, CT and Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, CT.
